Damageplan teve uma vida curta, nos deixando apenas esse grande New Found Power, e de uma maneira muito infeliz, pois, caso alguém não se lembre, um FILHO DA PUTA chamado Nathan Gale entrou no último show da banda e assassinou o guitarrista Dimebag Darrel, juntamente com mais alguns espectadores e acabou sendo assassinado por um dos seguranças antes de derramar mais sangue inocente à toa.
Fazendo uma mistura muito louca de metal moderno com thrash e o famoso "power groove" criado pelo Pantera nos anos 90, Damageplan agradou a muita gente e com certeza iria render ótimos frutos no futuro, porque esse CD aqui é uma pedrada na nuca! É uma hora de som bom, passando por diversas situações e soando nem um pouco reto.
São 14 músicas que compõem New Found Power, e eu gosto em especial de "Breathing New Life (Darrel escancara naqueles guitar screams bem típicos dele), "Save Me" (tem um refrão lindo e marcante), "Fuck You" (puta rifferama desgraçada e vocal agressivo! Esse som tocava muito no Gordo Freak Show), "Blink Of An Eye" (tem um trabalho muito bom baseado na melodia da guitarra) e "Explode" (uma das mais pesadas).
Para ser sincero, gosto do CD inteiro, pois a guitarra de Dimebag Darrel é marcante e única, Vinnie Paul é um dos bateras que mais gosta de sentar o sarrafo no instrumento, os vocais de Pat Lachman são muito agressivos e rasgados e o contra-baixo de Bob Zilla tem um peso surreal, chega a fazer as caixinhas de som do PC tremerem! >:D
Lamentável, realmente é muito lamentável que a banda tenha acabado dessa maneira.
Dimebag foi um músico que sempre será lembrado por ter gravado grandes cd's como The Great Southern Trendkill e por ter consolidado seu nome na cena da música pesada mundial. Que descanse em paz.
